For spring semester 2010 I will teach Commutative Algebra in Basel. Details are finally available here.

Last semester I read Algebraic Topology in Basel and Linear Algebra for Life Science students at EPFLausanne.

Our attempt to climb the n-categorical ladder in this seminar failed somehow. However we still have this nice blog and it is becoming more lively! My interest for n-categories is far from being dead!

I gave a Topology lecture in Basel during FS09. Besides all the classical material on general point-set Topology, at the end of this lecture I introduced fundamental groupoids and used concepts from Category Theory to explain some aspects of Algebraic Topology. We proved the Van Kampen theorem using fundamental groupoids, allowing to drop any connectedness hypotheses on the spaces involved.

During WS08 I taught Gruppentheorie at the Aufbaustudium level. During exercise hours we reviewed basic concepts of Category Theory and introduced groupoids. Next time I'll do a Groupoid Theory lecture...

During FS08 I gave an introductory lecture to Category Theory in Basel. This lecture was aimed not only for mathematicians, but also for theoretical physicists, computer scientists, logicians, neuroscientists, linguists and philosophers! For more information check this page. Parallel to that we ran a Category Theory seminar which was quite successful.

In HS07 I taught Algebra at the University of Basel. Basics on Groups, (Commutative) Rings and Modules were on the program

From 10 to 15 September 2007 I have helped young students at the Euler Studienwoche. We had fun understanding Codes and Cryptography.

I ran the Algebra and Topology Seminar from 2006 to 2008. Unfortunately I now have to split myself between Basel and Lausanne so I won't be able to attend it anymore.
